The event, named 'Gathering at Noon', was seen as a positive reaction to recent stirrings in the Australian community about the integration of new African migrants to Australia and to reassure Africans in Australia that a sense of welcome, generosity and openness is what lies at the heart of being Australian.
As always, community organisations looking to work more effectively with CALD communities must look to involve interpreters in service delivery and provide translated material to effectively promote their service and engender community participation,
